Great episode of Boss Hog of Liberty!
Jeremiah Morrell and Dakota Davis are your hosts!
https://bosshog.fireside.fm/153
There is a grassroots movement coming through Indiana. Yard signs have been popping up, schools are going to be closed next week. An event called #RedForEd is happening at the statehouse. More than 500,000 school kids won’t be in class, and over 11,000 educators are expected to be in attendance. The same factors that swept Glenda Ritz into office in 2012 appear to be coming together again.
We are joined by Jennifer McGowan, currently the Vice President of the local teachers association and 8th grade science teacher at New Castle. Also joining us is Alicia Criswell, extension educator in Wayne County and former public school teacher.
We discuss the multiple issues with public education in Indiana, not limited to low pay, high stakes testing, federal and state mandates, and more. The question is, what changes do people actually want? And what is possible? Great, open discussion!
And someone finally explains “E-Learning Days” to Jeremiah
